Paris — The City of Love & Lights

After a long car ride we arrived in the most important town to see I'm France. Paris the city of love and light. We decided to relax during the evening and start our explorations the next morning, saving some energy.
In the morning we took the metro to get to one of the most famous places, well better say building in city. Notre Dame, in front of this ancient cathedral they build some stairs only for the tourists to take pictures. What an amazing building, not only from the inside, also from the outside. We spent a lot of time outside before getting in and took a few pictures.

Next to the cathedral we crossed the Seine on the bridge of
Love, people are so afraid that someone would steal a part of it, so they put many many locks on the railings of the bridge, also some locks were connected with other locks.
St. Germain is the part of the city we were walking through, with some nice architectures, old buildings, small alleys and many cafes. There we found the Pantheon, didn't know that there is also one in Paris. So we got inside and could take a look at some arts, paintings and statues and in the roof was no hole.
Inside Bernd found his new summer residence and wanted to stay here and stop our travellings, was not so easy get him to forget about that idea and stick to the plan.

Then we headed to get to another famous building, built out of thousands of steel girders, the Eiffel tower. Before we got there we arrived at the Louxembourg park, a beautiful park with a small castle. So no way in only passing through, it's worth staying there and have a break before leaving.
Every step brought us closer and closer to the tower. And after passing by at the Esplanade des Invalides we arrived at the other and of the park to take our first sight on the tower without any houses blocking our view.

Incredible how people built this huge tower in the past. Before we could get into the line waiting to get up on the tower I had to help Bernd to overcome his fear of heights, well and also during we were waiting. We had to pass through two security checks, and I got told to take on my shoes (strange security rule), hours of waiting, we finally arrived on the second floor. Highest floor was already too crowded and more hours of waiting would have been necessary, but the second is quite enough. Amazing the view we got from there. Also Bernd could not get enough of it, he was so excited that he took a view using one of these binoculars around there.

Then we saw her. Far away in the north west of the Eiffel tower, this time we would not miss to get close to her. We took the stairs to get down and headed along the riverside to get to her. From up the tower it looked like she was much further away, but it wasn't that far. And finally we could do what we did not manage to do in June. Say hello to Miss Liberty. Only the small one but it was worth meeting her.
Do you know the movie inception ? We got to the bridge were the scene was with Leo and the girl making this action with the mirrors. Later we saw the houses they flipped and put together, but we got no got point for taking a picture of them.
Last special point for the first day we went to the Arc de Triomphe, there is a lot of traffic passing by, good that there is a tunnel to get across the street, might not be easy to pass alive. There is also the chance to get on top of it, but we were not in the mood of climbing up some more stairs.

The next day we started at Moulin Rouge, I know would have been more interesting getting into that area during the night, but Bernd was not really able to walk any further, so we decided to get their later. At least I don't think that we would be able to get in, for sure we did not fit any dress code.
Was not sure if we could make it inside the Opera, which wasn't far away from Moulin Rouge. But since we only got here as visitors and not for an opera or another event. From the outside it already was an impressive building, from the inside even more. Must be amazing going to an event there. Only for the atmosphere you get.

Next we wanted to see the Louvre, that fore we went to the Jardin des Tuileries and stayed there to eat and drink, also to relax. It feels like in this town is everywhere a nice park for relaxation.

Unbelievable how big the Louvre is and how many great arts are in there. The building would without all this art put in there amazing enough. Bernd came up with the idea to take some pieces home and keep it as decoration. So we got some new furniture and arts.

We stayed in the Louvre until the security told everyone to leave the place. And it felt like we had only seen one third of all the arts in there, so next time we start at the other end. Since we stayed so long in the Louvre the Palais Grand and Palais Petit were already closed.

Because Paris is also the City of Lights, I wanted to prove that in the evening. Bernd was as expected too tired to get into the city, so I went on my own to some places. Not too many, so I still might be able to get home.
