Exploring Manhattan

Yesterday we explored Manhattan, starting at Times Square. It sort of doesn't only feel like staying in the middle of a town, you can get the feeling of staying in a canon. Only the rocks get replaced by skyscrapers. It took a while for Bernd to starring at the skyscrapers and forcing me into taking a picture of him. He already got into this travel feeling and wants all the time a picture of him in front of the sights.

From Times Square we went to De Witt Clinton Park next to the Hudson river. The river does not really feel like a river, more like a part of the Atlantic. We have seen some small boats and followed the river in the south river park

After a longer walk we headed to central park and relaxed in the sun, enjoying the great weather we got. It did not really feel like being in one of the biggest cities in the world. The park is so big so that you do not get disturbed by the sound coming from the streets and can have a good time in the green.

What else did we see? We went to Rockefeller centre, headed to wallstr and all the way down to the south end of Manhattan. We wanted to get on Liberty island, but Bernds feets were aching so bad so we stopped our exploration there and took the metro back to Brooklyn

Bernd got a bit frightened when we saw this building, he thought it was the cube (remember the movie)

At least at the end of our exploration we could take a look at the Statue of Liberty, she is still far away, to far for swimming.
